Have you lost that loving feeling? After age 40, lots of folks start to lose interest in sex. After about age 50, men’s and women’s sex drive starts to diminish in importance. It’s just not a top priority anymore. Exploring options like DHEA for sex drive could offer some benefits. DHEA, a hormone that naturally declines after age 25, has been shown to improve libido because DHEA is the foundation or base hormone precursor to sex hormones.
The Massachusetts Male Aging Study found that over half of men aged 40 to 70 had some impotence. More than half of women lose interest in sex, too, after age 50. We all experience hormonal decline as we age.
Bad news: More than half of people over the age of 50 have some level of sexual dysfunction.
Good news: If DHEA is used correctly, you can do something about it.
The science is clear: levels of DHEA are consistently low in men and women with low sex drive. Conversely, DHEA helps to boost men’s and women’s sex drive. This is because DHEA is a base precursor carbon chain molecule, a parent hormone or prohormone that is the foundation for the androgenic and estrogenic sex hormones like estrogens and testosterone.
Unfortunately, low sex drive can often lead to couples becoming more distant from each other. Less together time to share affection.
Sex drive impacts mental health, emotional health, psychological health, and physiological health. This makes sense when we consider how fundamental sex is in allowing humans to continue to exist. Hormones play a massive role in this. Hormones are protein drivers that make us who we are and allow us to function as sexually reproductive organisms. Hormones drive our mood, cognitive function, muscle tone, immune function, and sex drive.
Importance of Healthy Sex Drive
So, let’s talk about sex. Regular sexual interaction is a crucial part of maintaining a solid relationship with a partner; it has been repeatedly shown in medical research to be great physical exercise, getting the heart rate up, which is good for physical health. Sexual activity is also good for mental health and well-being, releasing dopamine and endorphins as well.
One of the benefits many people experience is that Twist 25 DHEA cream helps boost men’s and women’s sex drive. More together time for people is healthy.
Does DHEA Increase Libido?
Medical studies confirm that DHEA boosts sex drive, especially for women.
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a base precursor for more than 50 hormones that are smaller, more specific carbon chain molecules. Hormones metabolized primarily in the ovaries or testicles drive libido. Estradiol and testosterone are two examples of estrogenic hormones that stimulate sex drive in women. Testosterone is primarily responsible for men’s sexual drive.
Twist 25 DHEA cream can help men and women maintain youthful hormone levels. The benefits that DHEA supplementation can provide are numerous, and all good.
But DHEA has to be supplemented correctly to work. A properly made, absorbable DHEA cream provides many more benefits than DHEA supplement pills. There are no dangerous side effects.
Do your heart some good and get back that loving feeling. It turns out that DHEA is not just helpful for regaining sexual interest and drive. It’s also great for cognitive function and cardiovascular health.
Medical science shows that DHEA supplementation benefits cardiovascular health, helping the body produce endothelial cells, reducing blood pressure, and reducing inflammation.
How to Counteract Sexual Declines as We Get Wiser
The reasons Twist 25 DHEA cream may improve libido or boost sex drive are backed by science. To understand how DHEA can help enhance sexual drive, it is important to understand the things that cause it to decline in the first place.
Sex drive, as well as many other things, is primarily driven by hormones. Unfortunately, as hormone levels decline, people’s libido slows down, too. As we get older, mental sharpness begins to suffer, which can make us feel less connected with others.
Also, the sense of healthy well-being may decline. For instance, depression becomes more and more common after age 35. Many people describe it as “just feeling blah.” Clinical studies show the DHEA can help stave off midlife onset depression as well as sex drive.
These declines on the inside of our bodies are happening at the same time as things on the outside of the body make us not feel as physically attractive as we used to in our 20s.
Things like extra fat pads seem to accumulate more quickly and easily than they used to, muscle tone is less shapely and firm, and skin gets thin, dry, and papery—just not as soft and well-hydrated as when we were in our 20s. DHEA has been shown to help rejuvenate skin because it boosts sebum and helps with collagen synthesis.
People after 40 generally don’t sleep soundly at night anymore. They may toss and turn and sleep intermittently, but they don’t get enough deep REM sleep to awaken feeling sharp, rested, and alert. When all these things start to happen together starting after about age 35, it’s easy to understand why couples’ sex lives start to suffer. Medical research shows that DHEA can help improve REM sleep as well.
What is DHEA?
DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone. It is a crucial naturally occurring prohormone that the adrenal glands, gonads, and dermis in humans and higher primates produce in large amounts but not in lower species. It is the most abundant prohormone or hormone precursor in the human body.
Humans make more DHEA from birth through childhood and puberty, peaking between the ages of 20 and 25. After age 25, we make about 2% less DHEA per year. Twist 25 cream helps to maintain youthful DHEA levels and is suggested for use after age 35.
The blue line in the graph above shows DHEA levels over the human lifespan. The red line represents a more subdued decline that might be possible if DHEA levels were better maintained.
DHEA is primarily an adrenal prohormone, though studies show a great deal of DHEA metabolism also occurs in the gonads and dermis. DHEA is a precursor to the male and female sex hormones, all androgenic and estrogenic hormones.
The key is how to take DHEA to get the benefits it can provide. When DHEA is taken orally as a pill, it only supplements the DHEA sulfate level, not free DHEA. Free DHEA functions as a precursor to the sex hormones—like estrogen and testosterone. So DHEA cream provides a base for sex hormones that drive libido, whereas DHEA supplement pills only provide DHEA-S, which does not serve as a base or precursor to the sex hormones.
This is why Twist 25 DHEA cream does increase sex drive, whereas DHEA supplement pills and studies done using DHEA pills as the method of delivery have sometimes failed to show significant improvements in sexual function and drive. Proper method of use as a DHEA supplement cream is crucial.
The cream is the secret!
Studies Show Evidence that DHEA Boosts Sex Drive
In a one-year randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial (RDBPCT), 280 men and women ranging in age from 60 to 79 were given 50 mg of DHEA or placebo for a year. With supplementation, DHEA-S levels were restored to “normal youthful levels” in both sexes. In women, DHEA supplementation also led to a significant increase in both estradiol and testosterone levels. With DHEA, the libido’s most significant improvements were observed in women aged 70 or older.
Also, the physician researchers reported that “Improvement of the skin status was observed, particularly in women, in terms of hydration, epidermal thickness, sebum production, and pigmentation. Several biological indices confirmed the lack of harmful consequences of this 50 mg/day DHEA administration over one year, also indicating that this kind of replacement therapy normalized some effects of aging but did not create “supermen/women” (doping).” The NIH study by Doctor Baulieu, Thomas, et al can be found on Pubmed.
In another medical research study, Dr. Fernand Labrie et al at the University of Toronto Medical School conducted published medical research in November 2015 showing that the use of DHEA cream vaginally significantly improved sexual dysfunction for women based on the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI).
In another year-long medical research study on DHEA and sex drive in Life Enhancement magazine. The study results clearly showed DHEA supplementation improves sex drive in women and men even though the DHEA was taken orally rather than using a cream, which is a better method of use for DHEA.
Studies Show Evidence that DHEA Helps Vaginal Dryness
After menopause, women often have issues with vaginal dryness and vaginal atrophy due to decreases in estrogen hormones. Frequently, after menopause, there is shrinkage of the vaginal lining, vaginal walls become less elastic, and lubrication diminishes.
Medical research studies that are double-blind, placebo-controlled, peer-reviewed studies have shown that DHEA cream is a very helpful way to maintain normal vaginal tissues and natural lubrication. The 12-week medical research study involving 482 study participants also found that all six measures of the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) showed significant improvements in addition to the benefits for vaginal tissue health and better lubrication. The medical research study is available online.
Physiological and psychological research findings show that higher DHEA levels allow women and men to feel mentally sharp and more focused, have an improved mood, have softer, more hydrated skin, and get deeper sleep at night. So they feel rested and healthier, have more energy, and feel health and well-being. So, naturally, when all these things combine, and you feel great and look great, your sex drive comes back.
Biologically, it makes perfect sense. When you feel youthful and vibrant, physically and mentally strong, and look healthy, too, interest in sex returns.
In another study by the National Institute of Mental Health, men and women between the ages of 45 and 65 saw significant improvements in mood after taking DHEA daily for a month. In addition to having more energy and being in a better mood, study participants also experienced improved sex drive.
The Bottom Line on DHEA and Sex Drive
The key, though, is that DHEA supplement cream allows free DHEA to function as a prohormone for the sex hormones, so you experience the improvements in sex drive. DHEA pills do not because they only supplement DHEA-S levels, which are not a base for sex hormones.
So, please don’t resign yourself to a life without sex as you get older. It’s good for your health and well-being to stay sexually active. There is probably no need for prescription medication.
Add Twist 25 DHEA cream to your daily routine to get wiser as you age. Use Twist 25 DHEA cream morning and evening every day for at least two or three months. Simply rub Twist 25 DHEA cream onto thin, hairless skin until it is completely absorbed, leaving no residue.
Be alert and sharp in mind, be in a better mood, stay leaner and fitter, regain soft skin, better cardiovascular health, and a stronger immune system, regain diminished sex drive, and regain that loving feeling. All the little things we do every day in life combine to make a big difference.
