DHEA dehydroepiandrosterone
What does DHEA do?
DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone. It is a very important naturally occurring pro-hormone produced in large amounts by the adrenal glands, gonads and dermis in humans and advanced primates, but not in lower species. It is the most abundant pro-hormone or hormone precursor in the human body. Humans make more and more DHEA from birth through childhood and puberty to peak levels between the ages 20 to 25. After age 25 we make about 2% less DHEA per year. Twist 25 cream helps to maintain youthful DHEA levels and is suggested for use after age 30.
